I used to think all clowns were just plain scary

I've decided that kids at Warren Village are unusually, freakishly adorable. I'm serious. I don't think I've ever met so many cute, little people in one building. This little lady was a clown at our annual Halloween festivities. And yes, I am aware that some people think all kids are cute, but they haven't seen my elementary school pictures. I also don't think I'm biased in my assessement of cute either. Well, I might be. But just a little.

Colorado Observation #2: The Mystery of the Croc

Ok. So I get that most people out here are all about the practical footwear. Comfort is key. But, really, what are these things? Crocs look like glorified gardening shoes. Apparently, though, every man, woman and child in Colorado owns a pair. I've asked a few confidantes what the big deal is and everyone has the same response: "But they're so comfortable." And ugly. Nuff said.

Colorado Observation #1

I've noticed a plethora of Subaru Forresters and Outbacks in Denver. Warren Village even has one of its own that I drive to speaking engagements. What is it about this strange vehicle that attracts so many Denverites? To me, it looks like an odd hybrid of station wagon and SUV. But hey, to each his own, right?

Covenant Prayer in the Wesleyan Tradition

I am no longer my own, but thine.
Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt.
Put me to doing, put me to suffering.
Let me be employed by thee or laid aside for thee,
exalted for thee or brought low for thee.
Let me be full, let me be empty.
Let me have all things, let me have nothing.
I freely and heartily yield all things
to thy pleasure and disposal.
And now, O glorious and blessed God,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
thou art mine, and I am thine. So be it.
And the covenant which I have made on earth,
let it be ratified in heaven. Amen.

The prayer that myself and the other young adult missionaries prayed as part of our vows at our commissioning at Grace UMC in New York City.
